This painting by Rémy Tuybens plunges the spectator into a tender and staggered universe inspired by Alsatian half-timbered houses. Behind the open green shutters appear the famous characters imagined by the artist, small creatures with large expressive eyes, called “TRUCS” who seem to discreetly observe the outside world. Through a carefully constructed geometric composition, Rémy Tuybens plays with humour, curiosity and poetry of everyday life. The floral details and warm contrasts between wood, light facades and colorful touches reinforce the authentic charm of the scene. Between assumed naivety and benevolent gaze on our environment, the artist creates here a work full of sweetness, imagination and fantasy

Rémy Tuybens is a French contemporary painter working mainly in acrylic painting. His singular universe combines humor, poetry and surrealism through characters with big eyes immediately recognizable. Between gentleness and a lucid look at society, his works address with sensitivity themes such as loneliness, difference, nature or the absurdities of everyday life.
Self-taught and passionate about image since childhood, he develops a style at the border of comics, illustration and contemporary painting. His work, rich in detail and play of light, seeks above all to provoke wonder and emotion among an audience of all ages.
Rémy Tuybens is also the creator of “TRUCS”, small benevolent creatures born from spontaneous artistic experimentation. These endearing characters, often present in large numbers in his compositions, embody with fantasy different universes and participate in the strong and accessible identity of his work.
